People who complain about Fansub!

Okay so I didn't wanted to talk about this but I guess I have to.
It made me really mad to be honest, the way some K-pop fans talk about Johnny's and JE fansubbers, first of all
you guys have no right to criticize the fandom or fansubbers in general.
I came across a few online posts about K-pop fans complaining and criticizing our fandom and fansubbers and ridiculing us.
The main reason they did this was because they are not happy Livejournal fansubbers have their work locked to friends
only and because they aren't allowed to post the fansub online to YouTube.
I find this completely ridiculous, why would they bash a whole fandom just because they aren't happy that fansubs have their journals to friends only? Everyone in the JE fandom knows it is not allowed to upload fansub that is not yours online. Also I found it more ridiculous how these people kept on saying joining the communities is ridiculous because they were forced to make an essay about how much you loved Johnny’s or whatever. I HAVE NEVER IN ALL THESE YEARS I HAVE BEEN A JE FAN, NEVER WROTE AN ESSAY IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO JOIN A COMMUNITY! NEVER! I find these accusations ridiculous. The reason I'm writing this is because it makes me mad! IT DOES! WHY? Because of these people us the fans who follow the rules and have been fans of JE for years have to deal with the consequences, I do agree sometimes is hard to find subbed videos, but that does not give permission to others to bash or insult JE Fansubbers and JE fandom. If it wasn’t for fansubbers, we the ones who don’t speak Japanese, wouldn’t be able to understand anything they say, am I right or not? I am right, and I find it so absurd that these kpop fans come out of nowhere and complain about how things are in the JE fandom, saying how fansubbers don't want to share their work. If they didn't want to share their work, they wouldn’t be sharing it with us, don’t be ridiculous!
I am seriously mad at these people for coming and trying to force their way, this is not the kpop fandom, ok!
Other thing, I have been in the kpop fandom for as long as I have been a JE fan, and I have been in the Spanish and English speaking fandoms of K-POP so I definitely know how K-pop fans can be completely ridiculous sometimes!
If you guys knew how some kpop fans in the Spanish speaking fandom can get, you wouldn’t be saying this, and another thing I hate about the English speaking kpop fandom is this. THEY ALWAYS WANT EVERYTHING WITH ENGLISH SUBS, also they get mad and demand English subs right away! LIKE WTF! Seriously! I truly think they need to chill sometimes.
Also when I joined the J-POP fandom I didn't even knew fansub existed, and I was just happy that people would share their stuff online with us, I would spend hours just looking for videos of AAA( First jpop group I got into).
When I found out about Fansub I was more than happy to join the communities and follow their rules, I thought "oh there’s actually people who sub this" so of course I would leave comments and follow their blogs for more updates. But I find it annoying how kpop fans keep complaining about "not being able to find subbed videos of JE" like seriously, If you really wanted to join the community you could just apply, but some people are so lazy and want everything on YouTube for them to just search like wow, Fansubbing is not easy and it takes even days for fansubbers to sub, and how long does it take for us to watch? Yeah just a couple of minutes or hours depending on what we are watching. THE LEAST SOME PEOPLE SHOULD DO IS BE GRATEFUL!
That’s why I’m mad for.
Anyway I'm just trying to be quick about this and not being so rude.

Date: 2017-01-20 06:24 am (UTC)I guess they never had to experience scarcity of fandom-media like our fandom does, kpop stuff is pretty much legally on youtube after all, and rarely get taken down even if it isn't legit. Making fun of the Japanese fandom just cause we're strict isn't cool though. After all, it isn't like we're doing it cause we want our fandom to be a secluded niche, but more because we have to do it in order to enjoy what we want to enjoy without it being taken down for copyright.
In hindsight though, I feel the locked communities and everything makes for a warmer and more controlled environment where everyone sort of knows each other better and know that everyone will be nice to each other. So there's less chance of anonymous outsiders barging in and bashing the contents or something like that.
And for me as an occasional content creator, I feel like it gives a personal feel to it... Like I'm giving something to the community and the community acknowledges that I'm sharing it to them and are thankful for it. Which is really the best thing about subbing.
It isn't quite the same when it's just out there in YouTube and streaming sites for everyone to see whether they like Japanese culture or not.
Maybe someone should tell them that, hahaha.

Date: 2017-01-20 07:56 am (UTC)That's exactly how it feels, because is secure and you get to know people and be friends with them, In the kpop fandom is so different, is like really, you have to experience it to know it, some fans are just ridiculous.
I do feel indeed very grateful that theres fansubbers who share their work, there's people who take time of their busy life to fansub for others, for free. What more can we ask,
I know I actually dont like to watch variety shows online or even Jpop related content online, because it doesnt feel the same, It feels like is just there for the views and likes, and theres always someone who will comment and say nasty stuff about the group or idol or whoever is in the video.
Even if there's people to tell them off they wouldnt be listening at all, as they feel we are being ridiculous for locking the community to friends only....
Is a shame theres people like that... Since for them everything is in youtube and so easy for them to look, I guess they wouldnt understand how we feel about it.
